Another-user error when I am the only one

I am trying to export a table to another database and get error "The Microsoft Jet database engine stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time. (Error 3197)". I am the only one on my home computer. I get the same error when I try to run a query copying the data into another table. Simply displaying the data with a query works OK. When I try to do the exporting or copying in the same database version from last year, I have no problem either way. Thinking my Access is corrupted, I have use Detect and Repair but there is no change. Do I do a complete reinstallation, is my table corrupted, or do I have a virus?
