I have read countless tutorials and information pages on video for
PowerPoint. I completely understand how to check if the video will
play on a paticular system and I understand all about codecs. I am not
as well read on mpeg encoding, but I have read Sonia's article which I
find to be the most informative so far. I put this in only to
illustrate that I don't need the beginner explanation of using video
in powerpoint.
I have read that people prefer mpeg video because you don't need any
special codecs to run the video.
What software should I be using to encode the mpegs to ensure they
will be usable on any windows machine? Is there a codec that comes
with every windows machine (95 - XP) that I could use to create AVI
files?
I use Premiere 6.5. I have the Adobe Mpeg Encoder and Matrox Media
Exporter which will allow me to export Ligos Mpegs. I have never
successfully encoded a Ligos Mpeg that works in powerpoint on any
machine but mine. I want to use Mpeg2 video so I can get the bigger
frame size. I was thinking of buying Canopus' MPEGCraft, but not sure
that will fix my problem. I work for a large medical practice whos
surgeons travel to every corner of the world and give presentations. I
can not account for every machine. Our presentations usually have to
be put on a DVD due to how much video we use. I have presentations
with 300-400 slides and 100-150 video clips. I need to make sure they
will all run perfectly.
