After going around the block with unhelpful MS tech support, I think I solved
the problem myself...
1. Delete your current Sync program (mine was ActiveSync)
2. Install updated sync program (I went from 3.1 to 3.7.1)
3. Delete the duplicate items by going to "View" "Arrange by" "Catagory"
This is the simplest way to see and highlight each duplicate (hold the ctrl
key down as you select each dupliate) then press delete.
4. Resynch
5. Delete former computer identities when prompted, they will be
automatically recreated.
I did this on my lap top and my desk top and then used my PDA to resync.
