I have an email saved. person has no identifying name in email address or text. Perfect email to attach a note.
But I HATE system, as it's been explained to me here.
You have to keep a list of notes. So I make a note with the persons name. Then I have to right click and link to the note right?
And even then there is no color symbol or anything on the email.
Pathetic. Is there a better way.
I envision, like in photoshop, color notes and tooltips as hover over it...

When you receive an email like this, select "add to Address Book" when the
contact opens, assign a category. In the "Other" tab you can write your
notes and not have to link to anything.

Why would you want to keep an address for someone that doesn't even identify
themselves?

Or, since you (Kevin) apparently know the sender's name, you could just
enter it in the contact -- that's what I do with such mail.

Diane, this client is a moron, and hence uses an email address without a name, and sends emails without siging them. It's rare, but I did not understand what that meant. I did not see an "other" in categories and don't understand how assigning a category will make a note show up for me.

Ed:
I see what you are saying, you click on the email and you can add anything in there, in fact, you can add in the "notes" section -- only it was visible from the list of email, ie a yellow button or something that reminds me I did all that. but this is a start thanks.

Diane, ok, I think you meant, not to actually add to address book, but to do that to get their box up. I usually just click on their email address to get their box up now, it works the same, then you mean to add info, other, notes, Got it. Pity that a yellow post it does not show up in the email with a tool tip or something no?

Just some information should you ever consider upgrading...

You could take advantage of Entourage's feature to display user names as
they appear in your Address Book if you were using Office 2008. When you
add an E-mail address to a contact record and then also add the name of
the user to that contact record then Entourage will display the name as
you have it entered and override the name from the mail message.

I'm totally confused and it looks like you are too. Let's try starting
over....
I have an email saved. person has no identifying name in email address or
text. Perfect email to attach a note.

Do you have any idea who this person is? If no then give them a name like
John Doe or Unknown Person

Do you have more than one like this?
But I HATE system, as it's been explained to me here.

This sounds like you know the name.
Then I have to right click and link to the note right?

Notes must be linked to an item.

Is the only reason there is a note is to give this person a name?

If you know the name, then add this person to the Address Book and assign a
name to contact. You can also edit the subject to include the name if it's a
one time saved message.

Previously, I was suggesting you use the Other tab in the contact to enter
your notes, but I thought it was info, but now I'm thinking it could be just
the name.
