Any cross-reference between WordPerfect "reveal codes" and Word f.

Alex

I am helping people transistion between WordPerfect and Word.
#1 complaint is the "reveal codes" they are used to using to format text and
paragraphs.
Is there a cross-reference out there that I can give them, so they can find
what they want in Word based on what they know in WordPerfect reveal codes?
Any help is appreciated!

Alex,
You could activate the WordPerfect help. Tools - options - general tab -
check WordPerfect help and WordPerfect navigation.
When the user deletes a block of text e.g. the message delete block yes/no
will appear just as they where used to in WordPerfect.
As to the reveal codes bit, beginning with Word 2002/2003, you can activate
a task pane which gives you the the layout applied to the text the cursor is
in. It think it is called show formatting but I am not sure, only have the
Dutch version here.
Hope this helps

Whatever you do, *Don't* use the Help for WordPerfect users... it will hinder
them rather than help them. Depending on the version of WP you used, it is at
best minimally helpful and at worst completely useless.

It really is much better to bite the bullet and learn how to use Word
straight away.

I've been involved in several migrations from various versions of WP to
various versions of Word over the years and there is no substitute for good
basic user training in Word and a floorwalker on hand to help with problems
as they arise.
