Any difference between copy and duplicate

Hi all,

Can someone explain the difference between the duplicate and copy commands

AIUI , Copy goes via the clipboard, Duplicate does not.
Therefore, Duplicate is always more efficient if it is available.

Also, if you are programming the methods, Duplicate returns an object,
whereas Copy does not, thus making Duplicate much easier to work with.

I always think that there is more chance of internal formulae & references
being screwed-up (technical term) if you go via the clipboard.
