Any documentation on this scenario:

Using InfoPath browser based forms in a public available [anonymous] situation.

I mean more from a best practices/solution architecture standpoint than
necessarily nuts and bolts. But nuts and bolts is nice too.

I suppose also if we submit to DB instead of a form libary we can kiss any
workflow goodbye. Unless we use Biz-Talk. Yes No?

I heard or read information on this somewhere, but cannot remember where.
Unfortunately, I do not yet have experience with it, so cannot give you any
tips. But it is an excellent point, so I will pass this information on to the
docs team; perhaps they will be able to point us to an article that is
already available somewhere.

We have a solution where you can use a browser based, public form on the
front end and move it into a database and use InfoPath from an admin or
backend position to process the forms. We have a solution with search,
workflow, tracking, assignments, etc.

I've heard back from the Office documentation team. You may have already
found these two resources; if not, here they are:

This article contains some best practices for anonymously accessible forms:
http://technet2.microsoft.com/Offic...499e-402c-b709-780f125cea791033.mspx?mfr=true

This blog post uses a web service to submit to a database:
http://blogs.msdn.com/infopath/arch...-web-services-in-infopath-forms-services.aspx

While these 2 articles do not represent the whole picture, they are a good
place to start. BTW, you should be able to use a web service to submit a form
to a form library. This will enable you to use workflows. However, there are
authentication and security issues to take into account.

Thanks for the posts you guys. The other limitation of course is under MOSS
best practices you should not have more than 2000 forms/docs in the root of a
libary. So this is for a school and each form may have 1000's of
submissions. That is why I was thinking of submit to DB.

Thanks.
