I'm on Outlook 2007 B2 and still frustrated by the built-in Rules Wizard:
- Tiny cramped, non-resizable window
- No way to set defaults/template for new rules (requiring touching all
fields instead of the unique ones)
- No way to modify rules in bulk (e.g., Select 5 of them and "move to top";
sort all rules by incoming address or other fields, all without affecting
their order of implementation, etc.)
- No way to create "groups" of rules (e.g. family, then friends, then work
associates, then non-profits, then evil-doers, etc.)
- Many panes to walk through & clicks just to edit one rule
- Moving rules up and down just goes one line at a time
- Rules don't seem to work so I'll create 2-4 rules doing the same thing and
then managing all of them is a nightmare.
I'd be happy to periodically export them to a rwz file, edit them with Excel
and re-export them but Excel does seem to understand the format.
* * * * *
So, can anyone recommend an open source or 3rd party solution?
(I DO NOT NEED SPAM FILTERING THROWN IN, indeed I'd prefer not to add that
to my current system as it is already handled.)
Thanks!
