Any ideas why my Outlook 2007 is so slugish? (Running Vista) No problems with
Word or Excel. Takes up to 2 to 3 seconds when yyping or selecting. The
problem occurs in all areas of Outlook.

I have exactly the same problem, running Outlook 2007 under XP. Apparently
the operating system doesn't make any difference. Does anyone out there have
a solution?

See if clicking on the root "Personal Folders" clears the problem. There was
a documented problem with "Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer
7 for Windows XP (KB931768)" that caused this issue back in May. For some
crazy reason, going to Outlook's root message store would make it go away
(until the next time you open Outook).

It appears that one of the most recent rounds of MS updates has brought the
problem back.

I find that if I open Outlook 2007 in safe mode, it responds quickly. In
normal mode it is very sluggish. I don't know enough about safe mode to know
what this means, but it seems to be a significant clue. Can anyone help
explain this?

I finally solved my sluggishness problem, which was exacltly like yours. I
disabled an addin called (interestingly enough) "outlook addin"! Now Outlook
2007 performs reasonably well. I don't know what functionality I lost,
everything seems to be working as advertised.

Here is how I fixed it. In Outlook, You get to it through Tools: Trust
Center: Add-ins. Look to the bottom of the dialog box and you’ll see a spot
that says Manage COM add-ins. Click go next to that and you’ll finally arrive
at the Add-in Manager. Go down the list until you find "Outlook Addin" and
uncheck it.

Good Luck!
