Hi again,
Things to be sure of:
*If you ran the value pack installer after doing any office updates you need
to run the updates again.
*After you run the updates use Disk Utility First Aid to repair permissions.
Based on what you told me, I'd be inclined to have you copy your prefences
(plist files and the entire "Microsoft" preferences folder) to removable
media. Remove them media, trash all the plist files & the Microsoft folder
(with all office applications closed). Go to your login items and delete the
Microsoft daemon, then empty the trash. Let Office make a new set of
preferences. If everything is OK then you'll know one of your preference
files is no good.
An alternative method is to create a new user at the OS level. The new user
will get a new set of prefs when they open office.

Hello, Jim and thank you very much for your reply; I was getting worried
that I had somehow made myself unpopular in the group.
)
Thank you also for suggesting the search. I have searched all over the web
already and it seems that most of the hits in the Google search and (via
your link) actually are my own posts.
Way back on Nov 21, an MVP by the name of Mickey Stevens suggested I
reinstall Office and run all updaters on it and the proofing dictionaries. I
did this in conjunction with my "clean install" upgrade to Panther. Truth be
told, however, I did move some files over from the old Office installation
to the new to make sure I didn't lose any major settings and things in
Entourage. But I did a complete reinstall of Office and all the proofing
tools I would need and then ran all the updaters up to 10.1.5.
I do not know how much a system crash report can aid in determining the
cause of such a persistent crash, but I did post one on Dec 3 under the
heading "Re: Proofing tools [still] causes crash."
Sincerely,
Jonas
Hi Jonas,
A search of Google turns up this information:

If Google doesn't have the answer to your question, please follow up with
another posting in this same thread.

Hello group!
On Dec 3rd I wrote this group asking for tips on what might be causing
Entourage to crash every time I run a spell check with any other dictionary
than US English.
Later the same day, I also posted the crash log to the group.
So, does anyone have any pointers to offer me here?
Sincerely,
Jonas
