Any way to hide Std. Rate for a Resource?

I have a situation where we have Project Server and Project Managers that
create the Projects using Project Professional 2003.

Executive Management wants the Project Managers to be able to create
projects, enter tasks for their projects and select resources from the
enterprise resource pool to create their team, BUT they don't want the
Project Managers to know the Std Rates of the resources on their projects?
Is there a way for the Rates associated with Resources to be stored in
Project Server, but not available for the owners of projects to view those
rates?

Thanks,

Al

Sorry, but there is no way to hide the Standard Rate, Overtime Rate, and
Cost/Use Rate from your project managers in Microsoft Project Professional.
Because of this, we recommend that you do not use actual salaries for your
resources in the Enterprise Resource Pool. Instead, use a blended or
"average" rate across each team, department, business unit, or even the
entire organization. Hope this helps.

Hmmm...is it possible to use an Enterprise Custom Field to even store the
data? I think in everything that I've seen even that would still be visible
to Project Professional users. Thoughts?

That idea won't work either because all fields are available to the PM
through Microsoft Project Professional. Hope this helps.
