Anyone Ever Seen This Before?

Hello,

Has anyone ever seen this before:
http://digitalmarketing1.com/MacErrorPicture.jpg

Running an IMac Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33 GHz, Microsoft Entourage 2004 for Mac
v 11.3.6.

Opened Entourage and selected some of the tons of spam > hit Delete and
there you have it! Wasn't really sure how to answer this one! It was like a
Bill Gates trick question for Mac users. I had to have someone else come in
the office to make sure I wasn't having a stroke or something.

I did eventually select the highlighted button after a coin flip, but to no
avail. Nothing happened. Selected the other button then thinking that MUST
be the right answer! Nothing...

Finally, an end task was the right answer. Seems to have gone away for now,
but Entourage still crashes quite often. Rebuilt email, repaired
permissions, etc. Nothing appears to be wrong, but clearly something was
amiss.

Any ideas?

Hi Corey,

you know, some users have been complaining that the dialogues in Microsoft
Office can be slightly confusing, but your example really beats everything
I've seen so far. ;-) No, I can't say that I've ever seen anything like
this, and since it only happened once, I would say that this is a bug of
some kind. If you see it again, or better yet, if you can reproduce it, just
post it here.

For the time being, I'd say make sure that your copy of Office is up-to-date
(11.3.7 has just been released), and if Entourage keeps crashing frequently,
post back and we'll try to help you. I was going to suggest rebuilding your
database, but you seem to have done that already.

That was some error message. I would guess that all of the attachments in
the spam are part of the problem. It looks like all of the messages are in
your Deleted Items folder. Have you tried deleting all messages in Deleted
Items folder?

Since you are experiencing frequent crashes, I would advise you to create a
new Identity while you can still open Entourage.

Try exporting as an Entourage archive (.rge file) or drag each folder to the
desktop as MBOX files. You can export your contacts as a tab delimited file
or .rge file.

Paul Berkowitz's scripts Export-Import gets everything. Entourage exports
doesn't carry over categories, rules etc.

Export-Import Entourage (shareware)

For MBOX files: Run this script on your messages: Export folders (this gets
subfolders too). The script will fail on a folder with corruption.
