I must apologize to anyone who read a similar post I left
here a few weeks back. It seems I mis-spelled the name of
the link to fix the infamous Microsoft error 1328. Harry -
the post I just left in reply to your actual question is
correct, you can follow that post or this one, they are
functionally the same.
The fix for error 1328 while attempting to apply SR-1 to
Office XP Pro:

I have posted this several times before, and have all the
thank-you e-mails from people to prove that it works. I
also have the one from Brian that proves that my last post
was incorrect, I mis-spelled the first "notorious" and
that made the link a non-functioning one. Thanks for the
sharp eyes Brian! As I explained to him, I have nerve
damage, and am totally disabled. Sometimes, my typing
is "not so good". I do my best to post accurate
information, but every once in awhile, I flub it! If I
make a mistake, my e-mail is at the top of the post, just
let me know! Incidentally, I cannot take credit for this
fix. If you look a little further into the postings, you
will see that it was originally sent out to me when I was
begging Microsoft for help with Office XP also. That
person chose not to leave their e-mail, but, I'm sure that
they read the posts from time to time, so THANK YOU!
