Anyone know how to group graphics?

I cant group screenshots with arrows and it's driving me nuts

I am trying to write lessons in MS Word - which amongst text includes
screenshots + arrows pointing to the rellevant icons

trouble is - each time i edit the document the whole 10 pages of pictures &
arrows goes outta wack

normal method is hold shift, select the objects you want to group,
right-click/group

but Word doesn't seem to allow grouping with 'arrows' & 'diagram'

Anyone know a solution?

In Word 2000 and 2002, graphics are by default inserted "In Line with Text,"
so they are not in the drawing layer. Since they're not in the same layer
with the arrows, they can't be grouped. Try changing the wrapping to
anything different and then try.

sort of figured out my problem but not a solution - i figure if they can't
be grouped then if they're both configured to move with text, i might
achieve the same thing

the problem is compounded by the fact they're both in a table (both
configured to 'move with text')

alas the pictures recognise the text in the table (move with it)
but the arrows dont ( arrows dont move with text in the table - but instead
move with any text [outside] the table )

maybe a table is a different layer again - oh hum

Hi, Jethro,

Each item of graphics -- both floating (not in-line) pictures and arrows --
has an "anchor", which is the beginning of the paragraph where the cursor
was when you inserted the graphic. The anchor can be anywhere on the same
page as the graphic (they can't be on different pages, though). When the
graphic is configured for "move with text", it moves with the *anchor*, not
with whatever text happens to be near the graphic.

You can see the anchor: In Tools > Options > View, turn on the option for
"Object anchors". Then select a graphic, and you'll see an anchor symbol in
the left margin. You can grab that anchor and drag it to another paragraph
(as long as the graphic isn't configured for "lock anchor").
