anyway to force Entourage to dump old calendar events?

Due to a glitch in syncing my Palm Pilot on my home and office Mac, I now
have 2-4 copies of many old calendar events in Entourage. I¹ve checked off
the ³Delete non-recurring events older that XX months² but the old events
(which are non-recurring) are still there. Is there a trigger for this
deletion or is there any way to force Entourage to dump these events? I¹d
like to avoid having to delete them all individually as there are hundreds
of events now listed. Ugh.

I¹m using Entourage 2004 v11.2.3. Thanks.

Use a custom view to list all events (there may be one defined already, or
you can easily make one by using criteria name contains ³a² AND name does
not contain ³a²).

The events are then listed and can be ordered chronologically, allowing you
to shift-select a contiguous block for instant mass deletion.

Hi Barry,

Thanks for the custom list idea. That¹s a feature I haven¹t needed to use
but it worked perfectly, given that the copies were all Category: None while
I had applied categories previously to the real listings. By creating a
custom list looking for Events/Category: None, it made it quick and easy to
delete 2,000+ calendar events. Yikes!

Great glad it worked :)
