APA Style/References list

Hi there, I have read the other threads on references and various helpful tips. My question for the publishers is would it be possible to have an option for References similar to the Bibliography list (it appears in APA style that is what they call their bibliography page). Also, I noticed that it does not do a hanging indent (where the 2nd and further lines are indented to the right) which is another requirement.

If there is a way to automatically set this up and I haven't found it please let me know. Thanks so much!

I'm not totally clear on your question, exactly.

If by "References", you want the title at the top of the bibliography to
say references instead, you can change that manually, just type over it.
In my brief test, an update did not change it back.

For the hanging indent--use Format | Style, select the style
Bibliography in the list, click Modify and then check "add to template."
Add the hanging indent by using the mini-Format menu in the dialog to
select Paragraph. If you also need space between each bibliography
entry, you should also add some Space After in that dialog to the style.
I did not test it, but I think this change should persist through
updating the biblio and in new documents--Word should just use the
Bibliography style, whatever you have defined it to be.

You can request MS make these changes be the default by using Help |
Send Feedback in Word. Be sure to explain your needs in such a way that
people who do not use the Citation Manager and have never heard of APA
style can understand them.

Your posting name suggests you are a graduate student. If you are doing
a PhD, I would suggest investigating other bibliographic management
tools--Word's Citation Manager is aimed at undergrads and I don't think
it has the power an academic needs, and while third-parties can support
it, I don't see anyone leaping into this market. Try the demo of
Bookends, or Sente--EndNote is your only cross-platform option.

This was very helpful - I was not aware of how to send this feedback through help and of the other programs - thanks so much!

You can adjust the Bibliography to APA format by editing the Bibliography Style. Go to the Format Menu and click on Style. Click on Bibliography in the Style Box and then click on Modify. To set a hanging indent click on Paragraph in the drop down menu in the bottom left hand corner, then under indentation you can set a hanging indention by dropping down the Special Menu (I set it at .05 and it worked well). Also, in my program, they prefer that we single space the citation and double space in between, which I was able to do also! I hope this helps feel free to email if you would like some more help.
