APA template for Windows Vista/MS Word 2007

I don't have internet access at home, but I am required to write a major
paper this semester in APA format. I was trying to download the Template
from MS Office Online. I've saved the files to my flash drive. when I get
it home, is it going to require internet access/verification to work? is it
going to require that ActiveX control, and is that already on my computer
when I installed Vista and Word 2007 or is that another patch of software I'm
going to have to try to save to my flash drive?

I desperately need a template that will work with 2007, and I need it quickly.

thank you so much anyone who can advise/help.

If you copied the template to the flash drive from your hard drive it should be
okay when you take the template home. You need to copy the templates to your
local driver before you try to use them. This is important. Word or most Office
products do no do well editing from a removable disk. It is a good way to
corrupt your files. After you are finished editing, copy back to the flash
drive. Would be a good idea to save with a different name.

I extracted it to Program files/Microsoft Office/Templates. It took a good
while to open the extracted cabinet file, but it doesn't look like the
template I remember seeing at school. I resaved it under a new name and as a
template. I'll have to compare it to the notes I took in class to see if it
looks like it converted it correctly. I did notice however, that my
references tab dropdown already had an ability to format my citation for me.
And hopefully this is adequate for my paper.
However, I noticed that when I look to open a template, the saved template
that I created isn't an option when It looks for my templates. where should
I save it so that it comes up as an option under my templates when creating a
new word document? (I guess I'm unsure of the right path).

I'm not a Word person. Did you *save as* a Word Template? If you have questions
you are far better served asking them in a Word dedicated newsgroup.

For the template to display in My Templates dialog box it needs to be placed
in your User Templates folder. To access it, copy/paste the following in the
Address bar of the Windows Explorer:

%appdata%\microsoft\templates

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email cannot be acknowledged.
