whenever i try to open word, it tells me there is a corruption in a file, and
asks me if i want to recover it. regardless of what i say, it give me the
message "The instruction at '0x30206df0' referenced memory at '0x30206df0'.
The required data was not placed into memory because of an I/O error status
of '0xc000009c'. Click on OK to terminate the program, Click on Cancel to
debug the program." no matter what i choose, Word closes and it seems to do
nothing after that. how can i get word to open up so i can use it?

Sounds like you might have a bad sector on your hard drive?

You should clear all your temp files and then run a disk check. See
this article for info on temp files. And then right click on your C
drive in Windows Exploer and click Tools to run an Error Check (Check
Disk) to see if you have a bad sector. This will patch the bad sector,
but you may lose any information that was previously saved to that
area of the HD...which may have been files from Word???
