Apostrophe adds the letter 'o' after typing and 's'

Can't figure out what is wrong. Everytime I type a word using an
apostrophe followed by letter 's' - Word changes it to 'so

I looked in Auto Correct and cannot find anything relative to ths.

Anyone know?
thx Davido

Am not familiar with this anomaly, but if you're sure it isn't AutoCorrect
causing you might take a look at Tools>Language and make sure that the
language setting is correct.

Any other symptoms? Just Word, or are other programs affected?

It happens in Excel as well.
I looked at Auto Correct on Word - but maybe I don't know what to look
for?
I did not see anything related to this punctuation issue.
So I went in and made a "replace" a 's = a's and that seems to stop
it...butit still does it on Excel?

Language = US English

Thank you for your help!

Hi Davido:

Autocorrect is largely common to all Office apps, so if it's bad in one app,
it's likely to be bad in all.

In Word, go to Tools>Autocorrect and hunt it down: you will find an entry
for 's to 'so in there somewhere.

Hint: If you type what you are looking for, the list repositions...

Cheers

Hi Davido,

When apostrophe followed by letter 's' changes to 'so in your document,
hover your mouse cursor over the autocorrected word and you will notice a
blue underline. In Word 2004, this is proof that your text entry has indeed
been autocorrected.

Click on the Smart Button that appears under the Blue line and choose either
"Stop Automatically Correcting "'s"" (for this document) or go to
AutoCorrect dialog via "Control AutoCorrect Options" and delete this
autocorrect entry, as suggested previously by John.

Please let us know if this problem persists.

Thanks,
Ritika Pathak
