Apostrophe and Combo Auto Expand

I have noticed uneven Auto Expand behavior when entering
text containing an apostrophe. I have an Access Project
(adp) with combo boxes where Auto Expand fails to find the
existing entry in the list when an apostrophe is entered
e.g "Children's Hospital...." In contrast, I have another
Access Project (adp) where entering the apostrophe works
fine, e.g. "0'Brien." As a workaround, I could replace
the apostrophes in the combo row source with an empty
string ("") but I would rather allow my users to enter
apostrophes--but without encountering a Not In List error.
