Appearance of inserted files

I've inserted a number of files into my OneNote notebook, and I want to be
able to view them as a list instead of with icons. The icons take up a lot
of screen real estate, and the filenames are longer than what will display
with the icon. Is there a way for me to turn off the icon and increase the
length of the viewable filelname?

Hi John,

If I use that method, do I need to make sure the original file is on a share
that people who can access my OneNote file can access? I'm working with a
couple other people on the OneNote file, and we've been inserting documents
so that everything's in one place. Thanks for your help! This is my first
week with OneNote, and I really appreciate the help.

Hi Libby,

I recommend adding the file as an embedded file (which you already do) and
then add it a second time, but only as a link. Then you can modify the text
for the link to show the full file name.

Since you have already embedded the file, permissions to the linked file are
not important. If you share the notebook with me, I can just open the
embedded file.
