Appearance of linked excel worksheets in word

I have a lengthy word document which incorporates numerous links to excel
worksheets. While i am having the occasional issue with my links (due to
network issues I suspect), I am seeking help in relation to the appearance of
those linked sheets. I am selecting the worksheet area in excel, copying it,
going back to word, selecting paste special, paste link, picture (windows
metafile).

Often times the linked chart looks ok but then I need to resize it to fit in
my word document and on occasions some of the double underlining in my charts
appears as single instead (only on some charts - others the double
underlining appears exactly as it should). I've been trying to figure this
out and would appreciate any guidance anyone can give me as to how I might
resolve this issue. I've tried all the other pasting options without
success. It doesn't make sense since many of the charts that I am inserting
appear in the one document on the one worksheet so all the worksheet settings
in word are exactly the same but then some of them appear perfectly and
others have these issues. At times, some of them also have issues with the
font distorting.

I hope someone can help me.

Thanks in advance,

You could try adding a charformat switch to the link field which will stop
the changes when you update the field, but I suspect the problem is simply
due to a limitation in the graphic conversion.
