Word 2003
I use several default Heading 1 and Heading 2 styles in a small document
and have Word build the TOC from those entries (no Heading 3s are
included in the TOC). I accept the default style for TOC 1 which includes
a horizontal line across the top of each TOC 1 item.
I notice that if two Heading 1 items in the document do not have at least
one Heading 2 item between them, the TOC 1 entry for the second Heading 1
appears without the horizontal line above it.
As a test, if I create a "test" Heading 2 item between the two Heading 1s
in the document and rebuild the TOC, both TOC 1 items appear with the
line.
Does anyone know where the behavior is controlled? I've poked around for
a while now and I'm beginning to believe that no GUI control exists.
Thanks,
Wayne
