Appearance of unusual tables

Jim Ory

I am using WinXP and Access 2002.

An unusual event has occurred in a database I had been working on. Some of
my tables have disappeared and some others have appeared. The following
tables appeared suddenly. I am unable to delete them and I have not been able
to make my other tables re-appear. The information in these tables does not
make any sense to me. I have not applied any security settings to this
database. I have three other active databases in the same directory and they
are behaving normally. I attempted to make a new database, but these tables
also appeared before I could get started.

MSysAccessObjects
MSysACEs
MSysObjects
MSysQueries
MSysRelationships

I'm thinking this could be a corrupted program, but it does not affect my
other databases. Anyone have a clue?

Thanks.

Thanks for the help. I believe I've found the reason for the unusual table
appearance. System objects somehow were selected to appear in the database. I
still don't know how the other tables disappeared though.

Correct. Nothing to do with corruption.

Are the tables in another MDB elsewhere on your hard drive or server?
What about your backups?
