Append records by cycling

I need to write a macro that will take a record from a table and duplicate it
in a new table with an autonumber being its primary key. THe number of
duplications would be determined by the number loaded into a text box in a
form by the user. I believe this would be a cycling action. Does anyone know
how to do this?
