Appending an existing table with imported Excel data

When I import data into an existing table....appending the table with the new data.....Access creates many blank rows, in addition to the data being imported.

It didn't do that last year. When I dusted it off for this year, I noticed this.

Any ideas as to why this is occurring. Obviously not desirable.
