Appending data to tables in a secured 'BE' db

I created a secured BE db. I have data in an unsecured database that I need
to append to an existing table in the secured BE database. I created an
append query in the unsecured db, chose the 'Another Database' option, and
selected the BE db. When I click on the 'Table Name' drop down, no tables
appear. How can I append data into the tables of a secured BE?

Thanks in advance for any assistance

Open the secured DB.
Close the secured DB, but DO NOT exit Access. This will key your logon
in the secured DB's workgroup.
Open the unsecured DB & run the append query.

Or:

Import the data from the unsecured DB while in the secured DB (File >
Get External Data > Import).

or - write the query in the secured DB & link the unsecured DB's table &
run the query.

You need to link to the tables in the secured database. Go to Files, Get
External Data, Link Tables. Follow the prompts which should include the
password. Then append to those tables like they were part of the unsecured
database.
