Apple Remote: When I use it for PPT 2008, itopens and play iTunes also!

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I'm able to control my Powerpoint 2008 slide presentation ok. However, iTunes opens up on me also and begins playing a podcast also. How do I avoid this? Thanks.
