application-defined or object-defined error

any idea what this is? Whenever I put in a calendar
appointment, this pop up window comes up.

I also have a problem -likely related - that whenever I
try to put in a new calendar item, it says (even if it is
a new entry) "conflicts with another appointment on your
calendar".

I'd love some help and would be happy to help in return
