application error! please help

Recently I have installed a copy of Windows XP pro on my
IBM machine which is a PIII 1GHZ with 256M RAM and updated
All critical updates, it was ok for a couple of days and
then crashed. I installed a fresh copy of Windows 2000
pro, in a different folder, and then installed office
2000, but when I try to open any application I' will get
this error message:
the application failed to initialize properly 0xc0000006
Any idea how I can fix this?
