Application Error with Outlook 2002

I recently started to get the following message when I try to open vaious
attachments in my Outlook mail:

"Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close."

The error message:

"The instruction at '0x05d41e40' referenced at '0x05d41e40'. The memory
could not be 'read'."

Does anyone know why this persists and makes outlook shutdown?

Thank you. James.

did you have something that integrated with outlook that you uninstalled
recently (i.e. anti-virus software, spam, email enhancer, etc.)???

i was getting this error after uninstalling McAfee on PCs where Outlook
didn't completely close (including the Winword process). I had to
reinstalled/uninstall McAfee.

Also check the Add-In Manager folder for "leftovers" if you did in fact
uninstall anything recently.

I have not uninstalled anything lately. Could you let me know how I get to
"Add-In Manager." Is that in Outlook? Thank you.
