Word 2000 has suddenly (today) started crashing with an
application exception error. The relevant Dr. Watson entry
is (I can provide the whole dump if interested):
Exception number: c0000005 (access violation)
This seems to be happening in 2 large documents when I try
to use the Document Map to navigate from one section to
another following an edit or a copy/paste operation between
the two. I haven't isolated the exact steps yet. I have
been using Document Map for navigating while editing these
2 documents for at least a week now with no problem until
today. And no outside input (copied text, etc.) has been
added to them today.
So far I've been able to recover some of the edits but lose
the most recent (within the last 5 minutes or so prior to
the crash). But it is extremely annoying to have to re-open
and save the recovered docs each time.
Has anyone else noticed this? And more importantly, is
there a fix?
Thanks in advance.
