Application Hang error

P

Peter Häggmyr

HI!

We have a recurring problem with Office2003

We have Office2003 installed on a Terminal Server. (2003 server and DC).
Every now and then, the computer hangs logging the message 'Application Hang
'.

We cannot find any clues in the event logs.

It is always an Office Application that hangs (mostly WinWord).

Does someone have any suggestions??

Best regards,

Peter

Hi Peter,

Regarding this issue, please first make sure that you have installed Office
2003 following the steps in the following KB article:

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=828955

If not, I suggest you uninstall it, and follow the steps to reinstall it.

If the problem persists, please help me collect the following information:
1. Please let me know the exact error in the event log and I will perform
further research on this issue.
2. Please let me know what actions caused the error mostly.

Thanks for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Have a nice day!

Best regards,

HI!

What happens with all users mail settings (Outlook.pst-files). Do we have to
re-configure all clients after re-installation or will Outlook work as
before re-installation?

Best regards,

Peter

Hi Peter,

The files should be left intact after reinstallation. However, I strongly
recommend you backup the outlook.pst files before reinstallation. You can
check the file locations by right click "Personal folders" in Outlook,
choose Properties, click Advanced button and check the file locations. If
there's any problem after reinstall Office 2003, you can restore the files.

Have a nice day!
