application hang

Event viewer - getting error message application hang for Outlook, Excel, IE,
Word.

Also, I purchased my copy of Office xp std for students and teachers version
2002, but when I just went to do an update (in an apptempt to try to fix the
application hang) Microsoft said they couldn't validate my Office Copy.

What version of Office, origonally installed?
You initially tried a repair?
(IE is not part of Office)

PS If you have a problem, you fix the problem first as an attempt to upgrade
will rarely fix a problem unless it is specifically to cure a bug, & this is
not a bug
