Application Problems

I'm having trouble opening any Office 2004 Mac application. I've restarted
multiple times, I've downloaded the software again but it still won't work.
The applications try to start but then stop. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure what you mean by "downloaded the software again" - did you
download Test Drive?

If you mean you installed it again, that's only effective (if at all) if
you first run the Remove Office application (in the Additional Tools
folder of your Microsoft Office 2004 folder).

Take a look here for some troubleshooting techniques:

I am also having trouble opening Office 2004, on several computers (I
have a site liscense). I have tried running Remove Office, and then
deleting all of my Microsoft preferences, and other files, before
re-installing. However, I continually get an error message when I try
to open Office programs. Entourage will open, but Word, Excel, and
Powerpoint always go through the opening box, and then close with an
error message "bad access." I know its not the CD, because I was able
to install it on another computer last night, and it worked. All of
the computers I've tried it on are running the same OS. (Originally
10.3.6, now 10.3.7, it still doesn't work with 10.3.7).

Applications/Disk Utility/First Aid/Repair Disk Permissions. Try that.
