Application sharing?

Does Groove support application sharing for a meeting? We need the
ability to share desktop applications and whole desktops for some
meetings. Remote control would be great too. Something like
GoToMeeting's capability. I can't seem to find any talk about this
feature, yet I thought Groove had it.

Thanks!

Brian,

Groove does not provide any type of application sharing capability. 3.1 did
have a Co-Edit feature that provided some level of a "Sharing" type of
feeling in Word, but co-edit was removed in Groove 2007 because of some
problems with it.

Check out AppShare and Gxcel at www.apwiz.com. I'm not sure if these provide
the kind of functionality you need. However even if not then it's worth
talking to the folk there about what you're trying to do.

Wow! I'm still using Groove 3.1 and I wasn't aware that the Co-Edit feature
had been removed from the Groove 2007 version. That's a big step backwards.
Do you think the feature will be reintroduced? I hope so. Thanks, Martin...

I do not know if it will be in the next version of Groove but I do know that
it is a popular request. Let your sales rep know that it is important to
you.

Thanks Martin

gxcel is still the best way to share excel books in real time
however, that is possible bcse the inner structure (cell level objects)
permits this
not the same for other MS document formats

i do have a tool for better doc handling that the groove one
with check out / version control / locks etc

you will find these on my site www.apwiz.com
the others mentioned are discontinued for various reasons
you can however do a full Application / screen share with ActiCam

not much dev going on in this area with us
because we are hoping to see MS / Ray Ozzie come up with better solutions
soon
he has all the resources needed now :)
