2007 currently reads from the path from my older XL version. I need to
maintain separate startup files for each version. How can I change the
default start up path in XL2007?

That's the SAVE location. I need to change the STARTUP path.

Untested...

Maybe you can move everything out of the older (xl2003?) version's startup
path. And put it into a separate folder.

Then use
Tools|Options|General tab
and change the:
At start up, open all files in:

I didn't test to see if xl2007 would find that folder, too. (I don't have
xl2007 on a pc with xl2003.)
