i want to open a form based on a table. but i want it to apply a filter on
open that shows only records contained in a query. i have tried the macro
applyfilter action but it does not work.

What criteria have you used in the query to filter. Is the form datasource
the query?

not directly, but perhaps i should tell tou that my table gets the item
description (primary key) through an append query that creates a calculated
field. i do not know if this is important.

the query i have created to use as a filter uses the table my form is based
