Help! I'm trying to apply a template to an existing presentation. I've figured that out with some help - now I need to know if there is a way to autofit the presentation to the template without moving every little box/graphic etc. This is taking me hours and hours!

I'm not 100% certain what you're doing or what you're expecting, but objects
placed on slides by the user are not affected by applying different Masters
or Design Templates. IOW, the built-in placeholders supplied on the various
Layouts will be resized & repositioned based on what the new Layouts
specify, but elements such as Text Boxes, Shapes, images, etc. which have
been placed on individual slides will be left as is. There is no magic
potion that rearranges furniture for you when you reconstruct the house :)

What Bob said ... and also, are you perhaps applying a template whose slide size proportions
aren't the same as the presentation you're applying it to? For example, applying a 16:9
template to a 4:3 show? Applying templates won't change the slide size.

You might be better off creating a new presentation from the template you want to use then
insert slides from the original or add new slides to the new presentation then select
all/copy/paste the shapes from the original to the new.
