"Applying Contours to Assignments" , what is that means ?

Contours allow you to modify how the hours are allocated to the task.
Instead of the standard "peanut butter" approach, where hours are allocated
evenly across the task, a contour allows you to push more up front, or more
at the end, or any one of a number of options.

Take project management for example. This is typically an ongoing activity,
lasting the length of the project. On many projects, the PM is not working
the same amount of hours throughout, but spends more time doing the up front
planning, and less time when the project is actually in execution.

For a task like that, you would assign it the Front Loaded contour.
