Applying filters in Project 2007?

Each time I apply a filter (eg: 30-day look ahead) to my schedule, the
software automatically re-sorts my tasks which I don't want it to do. How do
I prevent this?

Filters don't and cannot sort. So exactly what are you doing to apply a
filter?
