Applying formatting is very SLOW.

User is complaining that Office apps are really slow, when he's doing
anything more than straight typing/data entry. For example, applying
Borders to text in Excel, or certain paragraph formatting in Word.

Any ideas?

XP Pro, Office for XP (2002), 128Mb or more of RAM, plenty of drive
space free (couple Gb free...)

Will SP-2 help? That's the only thing he doesn't have installed.
