I set up a Master because I wanted 3 or 4 slides per page and room for students to take notes. How do I apply this to the PPT presentation so I can post it (or print it out) for the students?

Is there another way to hand out a few slides per page with room for students to take notes?

You don't need to do anything special as far as a Master Slide to be able to
print multiple slides per page. In fact, AFAIK, Master Slides don't
influence that in the first place.

In the Print dialog there is a drop-down labeled "Print What:" -- the option
for "Handouts (3 slides per page)" should be exactly what you describe. It
produces 3 reduced slides aligned vertically on the left of the page with
lines to the right of each for writing content adjacent to each slide. The
page layout of slides in the Handout Masters cannot be modified.

On screen you can deal with only 1 slide at a time, but Notes Page view is
provided for that purpose. It shows the slide approximately half normal size
with a large text box for typing information. Although there are a number of
changes you can make to the Notes Pages Master I don't believe you can have
multiple slides per page. However, in the Print dialog you can select
"Notes" from the Print What: list then select "Layout" from the "Copies &
Pages" drop-down to specify Pages per Sheet.

[Just to clarify, though, there is no connection between Notes & Handouts.]
