Applying Office 2000SP3 still shows SR-1 in add\remove

After applying SP3 for Office 2000 using an
administrative share Add/remove programs still shows SR-
1. We also had had other hot fixes installed the same
way and we have the right file version but Words help and
about shows a different version then what the Winword.exe
file version is.

I also went to office update to scan and MS said that SP3
needed to be installed from an administrative share, but
I was able to install MS0-035, MS-036, MS0-037, and MS0-
038 with no issue.

Hi, Dylan,

My understanding is that the "Help|About" menus aren't updated with service
packs, only with service releases. So, your menu will stil say SR-1, even
though two subsquent service packs have been installed.

The other issue may be addressed here:

829080 - Office Update Offers Office 2000 SP-3 as a Critical Update After
You Install SP-3:

This article addresses how to apply SP-3 if you ran your setup from an
administrative installation:

Hope that's helpful--

In my case, Help | About was updated when I applied SP3. Word shows
"Microsoft Word 2000 (9.0.6296 SP-3)". Excel and Access also report SP-3.

You may need to slipstream sp3 into your disk 2 admin
install point if you installed it. If you have disk 1 and
disk 2, you need to apply the service pack to both shares
