Applying patches to an AIP O2K3 SP1

I have updated my AIP to SP1 and confirmed that it went through. I also added
KB873362 after the install. When I run the Inventory Tool the file file tells
me that KB873362 was not installed. Can Outlook patches be applied to SP1 AIP
and is there a utility that I can use to verify that the MSI was updated?
