Applying Templates

At long last I've decided to check out aspects of the .NET functionality
within Word 2003. According to the manual that I am reading on the subject,
I was directed to a site to download the XML Toolbox for Microsoft Office
Word 2003 so that I would have access to the toolbox.

Additionally it cautions that "the Toolbox only works with MS Office Word
2003 and requires that .NET Programmability Support is enabled on your
development computer prior to attempting to install or run the toolbox".
However, it doesn't tell me how to go about doing that.

As of this writing, I have downloaded the Toolbox but I have been
unsuccessful in getting the Toolbox to appear within the "View > Toolbars"
feature.

Is anyone able to assist me with this process?

Thanks so much in advance - Rod

Goto: Start | Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs
In currently installed programs, click Microsoft Office Pro 2003
Select: Change (the Office setup)

Note: choose for advanced customization of applications

Now for each application, enable/check the .NET programmability support
checkbox

Perry:

Thank you so much for your assistance, as I had no clue as where to even
begin in this regard.

However, I still remain unable to either view, through the use of the
toolbar, or to find the XML Toolbox even though the "upgrade" seems to have
gone through successfully.

Could the fact that I have "Office for Small Business Edition 2003" as
opposed to the "Professional Edition" possibly be the sticking point at this
stage?

Thanks again in advance for all of your help and for any thoughts or
suggestions that you may have.

Hi Rod,

Yes, I believe that would make a difference. The full range of XML
functionality is not available in that version. Basically, all it can do is
open/save in WordProcessingML.

FWIW, I have the XML Toolbox working on my installations of Office 2003 (Pro).
It installed and worked with no problems.

Thank you Cindy:

Aha!

It would appear that I have some upgrading to do if I intend to carry on
with the XML experience.

Thanks Again - Rod
