Appointment error message

When trying to create an appointment in my Outlook 2000 calendar, I receive
the following error: The Messenging interface has returned an unknown error.
If the problem persists, restart Outlook". I have deleted extend.dat and
outcmd.dat. I have done a Detect and Repair in Outlook. Any other ideas that
could help get rid o the error would be appreciated.
