Appointment Template?

G

Guest

Hello.

I am new to using Outlook for my calendar (previously a Palm user with
DateBk6), and can't find the answer to my question on a newsgroup search.

I'm looking to create appointment templates for frequent but NOT recurring
events (e.g., conference call with boss, always 8-9, always marked in same
color on calendar, but not at regular intervals--I have to enter it in on
days he wants it). If these were recurring and regular, I know how to do
this.

Is there a way to put these in on a case by case basis without entering
everything, such as a template?

Thanks in advance.

I use the add-in from WSRepeatAppointments: http://www.websetters.co.uk/WSAddIns/WSRAII/index.htm .

I'll take a look at that. Is there any non-add-in solution, such as simply
copying and pasting an existing appointment to another date? I can't seem to
figure out a way to do that (so it may not be possible).

By using the calendar and date navigator, right click on the appointment in the calendar and drag it to the date on the date navigator and release - select copy.

I'll give that a try--it might do the trick. Thanks.

I'll take a look at that. Is there any non-add-in solution, such as simply
copying and pasting an existing appointment to another date? I can't seem
to figure out a way to do that (so it may not be possible).

You could also have a second "draft" calendar folder (like the Drafts folder
for mail) in which you keep your "templates" and then just copy them to your
main calendar folder as necessary.
