Approve Timesheets vs. Accept Timesheets [2007]

Robert

Hello,
Could you remind me what is the difference between the Approve Timesheets
permission in the Resource section of the Category's permissions, and
Accept Timesheets in the Time and Task Management section of the Global
permissions?
Thanks ahead.

Robert --

Accept Timesheets is in interim permission when you need to set up a "chain"
of Timesheet approvers. Approve Timesheets is the permission for the final
Timesheet approver in the "chain" of Timesheet approvers. Whoever has the
Approve Timesheets permission is the end of an approval chain, even if there
is only one person in the chain. For example, in an organization you might
have the following Timesheet approval workflow:

Manager A must first approve the Timesheet and pass it on to Manager B
Manager B must approve the Timesheet and then pass it on to Manager C
Manager C must give final approval to the Timesheet

In the above scenario, Manager A and Manager B must have the Accept
Timesheet permission, but must not have the Approve Timesheets permission.
Manager C must have the Approve Timesheets permission, since he/she is the
final approver. To learn how to set up a chain of Timesheet approvers,
refer to the following FAQ:

Hope this helps.
