Arabic 97 records appear corrupted in xp

Problem:
Database created with Access97 & Windows 98 with some
fields having Arabic data shows corrupted data under
Access2002 and WinXP, either with our without converting
database to Access2002.

Under Access2002 and WinXP, if I go
tools->options->datasheet->default font, the font combo
appear blank, with no options at all.

This problem does not exist with Access2002/Win98 combination.

Any clue?
